Who are we?
We are the original Salisbury-based photographers that give you the choice when it comes to your ideal amount of coverage and presentation for your big day. We've photographed over 120 weddings since our first in 2009; from small intimate ceremonies with 15 guests to full-day celebrations at stately homes with over 150 guests.
What is our photography style?
We create a story of your wedding day in a relaxed and informal documentary style. We will of course photograph your family groups, generations, stag & hen party groups but we'll also capture those brief candid moments that you don't see. We capture the real essence of your day with being the centre of attention. As part of our service we always include a pre-wedding shoot which gives us an insight into how you are with a camera pointing at you and you can see how we are pointing the camera at you.
What packages do we offer?
Quite simply we don't offer packages. When we got married we were bombarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze packages which suited the photographers more than suited us. We believe that you should be able to choose the photography that fits your needs exactly. Our photography service is split into two; firstly the amount of coverage you'd like e.g. pre-ceremony, ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception; then the presentation of your images. This way you have your own bespoke wedding photography package without paying for things you don't want.
What do we mean by the amount of coverage?
Instead of charging for hours and minutes we split your wedding coverage into four sections. Some couples know exactly what they want in terms of coverage, others need some guidance. We give you all the information for you to make an informed decision and utlimately it's up to you. Almost all couples who book us want at least coverage of their ceremony and wedding breakfast, some also want photos of the pre-ceremony getting ready and most want coverage of their first dance.
What do we mean by the presentation of the images?
There's so many ways to present the images from your wedding day. When we got married in 2005, although most photographers had moved over to digital photography, the presentation aspect was still 20th century! Nowadays wedding photobooks are the most popular way to present your wedding images. We love designing photobooks and it gives us a great deal of pleasure when we deliver couples' photobooks knowing that it has been hand-made in the UK and individually designed by us with your chosen images. We can and do still supply wedding photo albums but to be honest it's been a while since the last album left the studio. Oncemost couples see our photobooks they don't look back.
How much do we charge?
On many occasions this is the first question we are asked. The short answer is... we don't know. Wedding photography shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all commodity. Until we know more about you and what you want (and don't want) it's difficult to give you an exact figure. But just like when we were planning our wedding, we needed to have a ball park figure to work out how much of our budget to allocate to photography. With this in mind our wedding photography starts from £750.00 with the majority of our couples spending between £1,100 and £1,600 which includes the coverage and presentation. Also what we believe is important is that the price we quote is fixed so if you book us in a different year to your wedding date and we subsequently raise our prices in the future, you are safe in the knowledge that your wedding photography coverage won't increase.
Do we offer second photographers?
The short answer is yes. However for the vast majority of weddings we've photographed we haven't had a second photographer because the couples have not required one either due to the additional cost or the fact that two photographers can seem like 'over kill'. Second photographers can add another perspective on your wedding day and we're happy to discuss this with you if you'd like to explore the possibility of having a second photographer for your wedding.
What's included in the price?
As much as our wedding photography is bespoke there are certain aspects which we believe are fundamental to achieving our relaxed and informal documentary style, and also achieve the images that will tell the story of your special day, including:
How much is our deposit?
Our deposit is £250.00. This confirms your wedding date in our diary and is non-refundable. Some couples like to pay more than the £250.00 which is fine but not compulsory.
What about the balance?
We like to think we are flexible with regard to our whole wedding photography service and this is true with the balance of payment. You can pay the balance at any time up to one calendar month before the big day. Some couples pay lump sums periodically and some set up a standing order to spread the balance over a number of months, it's up to you. We appreciate that we're not the only supplier you have to pay so we try wherever possible to be as flexible as possible.
Which payment methods do we accept?
We accept all major debit & credit cards; online bank transfer; PayPal and old-fashioned cash.
Do we book more than one wedding per day?
The most bittersweet part of our wedding photography is when a couple really wants to book us but when we ask for their wedding date we find out we're already booked! It is the most frustrating aspect of our business. We are usually booked up one to two years in advance so it's important to act quickly when choosing your preferred photographer. On some occasions when we've informed potential customers that we're already booked they have asked us if we have another photographer who we can supply because they really like our service, reputation, bespoke service and ultimately the price. We are happy to discuss the options available in these circumstances.
How far do we travel?
We will travel more or less anywhere couples wish us to travel in order to photograph their wedding. So far we've travelled as far north as York, as far east as Kent, as far west as Devon and as far south as er... Lymington! :-) Our first international wedding is surely just aorund the corner.
Are we insured?
Yes, we are insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity and will happily provide details on request. Some wedding venues insist on wedding suppliers having insurance before allowing them on site.
